When we first bought our 1920’s home we had hand-me-down furniture, no
blinds, basic kitchen supplies and little knowledge on how to maintain a house.
Over the last three years we have made progress to make the house our home and
managed to accumulate A LOT of stuff in the process.
I have always been an avid shopper to the point that my husband has
referred to my shopping habits as an aggressive sport. I am always looking for
the next deal and usually having a hard time passing them up. When items we
used were on sale I would stock our closets full of them. I also found myself frequently
visiting my favorite store and websites scouring their sale racks.
Last year I found myself feeling stressed and anxious when our house was
even slightly a mess. I constantly felt like I was shuffling things around to
keep our house clean. This led me to make a resolution to simplify. The more I dwelled on this idea
the more I wanted this to be the start of simplifying our life – home, finances
and health.
This blog is way for me to document our progress of simplify our home, making
healthy choices and sharing my experiences.
How cute is this ornament? My mom’s friend made it for me to remind me
of my goal
